In late March we decider to take the afternoon and get a little pond fishing in.

The Girls were out doing a little Plowing and guarding

Let’s be honest here, kids behave better when they have some responsibility for themselves. In this way, they are kind of like mules. Mules will roam the land, eat your vegetables, and trample your flower beds if you don’t give them something to do. Once you load them with a pack of supplies and lead them down a narrow path that challenges their footing they are as docile as a Hindu Cow. When my kids have nothing to do they leave a path of destruction that rivals an F5 tornado. Once they’re they’re outfitted with their own hiking kit belt they calm right down. They must feel a sense of responsibility for themselves. The end result is I have to carry less stuff, they have what they need when they need it, and everybody is happy for our adventures in the wilderness.

Goal Zero Lantern Pouch
Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night in your tent, totally disorientated and with a full
bladder. Where is the exit to this darn thing? And then you do it. You step on your wife/kid/girlfriend/
pet. Now everybody is up. You’re lucky if the victim isn’t crying. What began as a simple attempt to
answer the call of nature in nature ends up being a full-fledged fiasco.
You know what you should’ve done?
You should’ve brought along your Goal Zero Lantern and packed it in your Goal Zero Lantern Pouch.
Then you would have known where its location was at all times. Even in your 3am-full-bladder-haze.
